El Milagro Taqueria: Reviews & Ratings
El Milagro has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Chicago for years now. Their chicken mole tacos are incredible. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the tacos. Prices are very reasonable and the tacos are super filling. I have been to a couple locations and they are very consistent. If you haven't tried El Milagro then I would highly recommend it!
Oooooweeee these had to be some of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time. $5.50 for taco which is stuffed with a slab of steak, rice ,beans, and cabbage is a absolute great price and well worth it. The steak was very well seasoned, super tender and smoky. Reheated in the microwave 2 days later an it was STILL just as good as it was in the restaurant. 100/10 !!!!!
Stopped quick before shopping at Costco and was not disappointed. Delicious Steak Taco and Steak Burrito. I must say the place was busy with customers for it being so early in the morning. Food was made fresh to order, it was definitely worth it!
I LOVE this place! The food is served cafeteria style, so you get to take a look at some of the stuff before you order. My go-to is the asada plate or the asada taco. The taco is humongous, with a BIG piece of steak. You heard right, big chunks of asada like it came off of your backyard grill! I'm not a big fan of rice in my tacos, but here it hits especially when paired with the cabbage that comes on top. My biggest tip is to either eat it there, or eat it quickly if you do get the tacos. They are stuffed, which means those two fresh Milagro tortillas all the ingredients are cradled in can get soggy if you wait too long. The tamales here were okay to me, but every time I'm in the area I make it a point to stop in for a quick lunch taco. I've never had problems finding a seat, and the employees are nice, and the food comes out fast. I've only parked in the area twice, and the rest of the times I've walked over. Parking on the street is available, but you have to pay. The interior of the restaurant is nice, and clean. They take cash and card.
Woah, really unique experience here. So different that it feels weird comparing to other restaurants. Cafeteria style counter with lots of sides and hot dishes behind the glass. Order at the cashier, helps if you speak a little Spanish. Tacos come with rice, beans, cabbage slaw, and choice of protein all on the tortilla, never had a taco like that before. I was skeptical about the toppings but ended up enjoying them. They run about $5.50 but they are massive, actually a challenge to eat they are so big. I got guisado de res, bistek asado, and chicken, the guisado was a mess to eat but it was so good but the steak probably was the winner out of the bunch. I could hardly finish 3 tacos, and I have a pretty big appetite. The fresh tortillas are outstanding. Really cool experience, I’ll be back for sure. Not what most people are picturing when they think of a taco place but if you’re up for something new it’s well worth it to stop in.
The food is usually good but today it was a little off. The food just didn't have much flavor.
I came to Taqueria El Milagro in pilsen for some brunch tacos and wow… the place was packed. But waiting wasn’t bad at all since you can smell the food and watch everything being made right in front of you. The place has this hacienda-style look that just feels right. Staff was super nice and kept things moving. I ordered two tacos, both with everything. One arrachera, one pork in green sauce. I was not ready for the size. These tacos were huge. Packed with meat, beans, rice, and topped with this cabbage and onion mix, kinda like their own coleslaw. No cilantro and onion, which was different, but honestly refreshing. The arrachera taco was the star for me. The meat had this deep charred flavor, smoky and juicy, with crispy edges but still tender inside. The pork in green sauce tacos were rich and comforting, slightly tangy from the salsa, but really well balanced. The beans and rice weren’t just fillers either, they actually had flavor and tied everything together. Oh man, it was a messy experience and really satisfying. One taco could honestly be enough. I’d definitely come back.
Food was AMAZING and the service is good. Atmosphere is good. Heck even the outside atmosphere is great. And the only ice there is the ice in horchata. I still cant get over how good those tacos were.
